The events unfold in the United States, immediately after the Civil War. At that time, more than half of the society consisted of bandits, and they were hunted by mercenaries — the so-called "bounty hunters." One of them is John Root, better known as the Hangman. Everyone knows that if you fall into the hands of this person, you have at most a few hours left to live. Ruth is particularly cruel and cold-blooded, and now he's taking another prisoner who's accused of murder.
