Autumn blues - how to fight
A special emotional state appears, which is characterized by a decrease in mental activity, unwillingness to move, a negative attitude in the surrounding world and frequent mood changes. The melancholy is intensified by the thought that the holidays have already passed, the day is getting shorter and there are many months of gray short days and long dark nights ahead. Stressful days appear more often at work, the number of reports and demands increases and, as a result, the mood worsens, irritability appears.
Today, the autumn depression is being inflated by the media, and we ourselves are inflating it to an incredible size, we consider it almost a fashion. Of course, it's hard to call the autumn blues a real depression, but you shouldn't go with the flow either. We must not allow the whole season of the year to pass in melancholy and despondency. Therefore, it is time to start fighting this phenomenon.
How to deal with the autumn blues
Let as much light into your life as possible. Be sure to go outside during the day, increase the time for daytime walks. Ensure that the room is illuminated as brightly as possible. Give up nighttime gatherings at the computer, in dim, local lighting.
Dress up in clothes of bright colors. It is not for nothing that in the Scandinavian countries, where there are polar nights, they like to paint life with bright colors. They wear funny hats with ears and bright scarves, unusual mittens and gloves.
Eat nuts, dried fruits, chocolate and bananas more often – all these products are recognized antidepressants. Take vitamins and replace sugary drinks with fermented milk products more often. Remember that many oriental spices, such as cinnamon, pepper, ginger, increase vitality and immunity, include them in your menu.
Give up fatty, floury and fried foods – this will only lead to weight gain.
Allow yourself to rest and relax more often. Make a life plan for yourself for the whole autumn. It includes a course of baths with aromatic oils, weekly meetings with people dear to you – friends, relatives, colleagues.
Don't forget to plan trips to all the interesting performances, concerts and exhibitions in your city.
Be sure to remember which books you were going to read for a long time, but postponed until better times. Know that the best times have come!
And finally, if the dark season has come, allow yourself to sleep for half an hour longer every day, it is very useful for the body. They say that those who sleep a lot and well, do not gain extra pounds and manage to do a lot more useful and pleasant things in a day.
And in conclusion:
Our thoughts are material. We influence the world around us, and it affects us. Therefore, if you succumb to apathy and melancholy, then everything around you will become dull and gray. Try to smile more often, find the good in everything that surrounds you. Be friendly, bring sincere joy to your loved ones and then the autumn blues will surely recede. Good luck to you! bit qt
